POSTER DESIGN CONTEST

Posted by giantpandadub on August 10th, 2010

We want a Psychedelic Tour Poster!

For inspiration reference the repetitive design style used in 60’s blotter art, interwoven with (or showcasing) the bands name and logo. Keep this style in mind when creating your artful and original imagery. Avoid the obvious and create unique thoughtful art.

The winning ally will receive the $100 license fee, a prize pack from GPGDS and a Blue iPhone Mikey.

The winning artist will also be considered to turn the poster into ad-mats, and web graphics on commission

Download the band’s logo in the support files provided.

Upload your art by August 27th

Kofi Goodwin – Life Pilot Fundraiser

Friends & Family and music supporters

We are proud to announce that we will be taking part in a wonderful benefit concert on the afternoon of Saturday, August 7 2010 in Farmington NY.

Tickets: http://www.hopealivefoundation.org

The benefit is to support our best friends the Goodwin family who recently went through some difficult medical matters with their young son Kofi. Best friends of GPGDS and long time supporters, Matthew and Vanessa Goodwin are the two young parents of Kofi Goodwin who recently had to undergo very serious eye surgery that will continue to need medical support throughout his childhood. This benefit hopes to raise the funds to ease the financial burden as much as possible for this family who has always been full of love and supported their community when it is in need.

We are all so grateful to have Kofi with us in this world. For all of us as best friends, this was a very real scare in our lives and a lesson of how health, family, and friends is the greatest wealth to celebrate. This benefit is also a celebration of life and truly defines the essence of what HOPE ALIVE is all about; friends helping friends celebrate life through personal expression.

So please come and enjoy the get down. Their will be much music and fun to be had.

Thanks,
Panda

Van Breakdown! Make A Donation, Receive Unreleased Music

Posted by giantpandadub on February 15th, 2010

Greetings Friends and Family,

We are reaching out to you for help in a time of need. We are about to pile into a rental car and head to Atlanta from North Carolina in an effort to not miss tonight’s show. On Saturday our usually reliable workhorse of a van decided it had enough and could travel no further after the engine somehow cracked. Breakdowns and vehicle troubles come with the territory and is something we imagine most every touring band deals with at one time or another. The timing is never convenient but usually with some quick thinking and creative problem solving, a major crisis can usually be avoided.

While we are no strangers to mechanical setbacks on the road, this time the situation is more challenging and we need all the help we can get to make this repair and complete our current and future tour dates. Our van is in the shop right now and needs its engine replaced, which for this particular vehicle comes at a cost of $16,000! While this is a large sum of money for an independent band like ours we are optimistic that if everyone can help contribute even a small amount of money, together we can get this van back on the road and continue on with our relentless tour schedule.

We have setup a link to our PayPal account where anyone can make a donation. In return for your generosity we will email you some previously unreleased GPGDS music! (suggested minimum donation $5)

We have a tremendous amount of respect for all of you who have helped support us over the years by coming to our concerts, purchasing our albums and helping spread our music far and wide. Reaching out to you for help is not something we take lightly.

We can’t express how much we appreciate your help during this difficult time. THANK YOU!

Love and Respect,
Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad
